Out recently i noted to myself with incredulity how the movement of Nu-Rave has been adopted by the majority of the clubbing population. Many fashionistas are taking influence from the catwalk; from the bright pink, plastic miniskirts at Fendi, to the ever engulfing Cassette Playa and even the neon coloured, yet beautifully delicate dress of the season at Christopher Kane. For the masses, however, Nu-Rave has merely become the latest excuse to lightly mock with pathetic irony. Whilst out the other night i was dissapointed to see a large group of students using Nu-Rave as a fancy dress theme, with their neon glasses, leg warmers, face paint and glow bracelets they cut a less than amusing dash. The next day i was invited to a Neon/Nu-Rave themed party. Is Nu-Rave truly becoming the next Cowboys and Indians of fancy dress?
